Get to Know the Practitioners

welcome.

Hi, I’m Melanie Schwieterman! Owner, and counselor at Bloom Mental Health, LLC.

You've done it alone long enough, and you're in the right place for the collaboration you've been looking for. Maybe you're in the throngs of anxiety and depression, and feel sick of the way they've been limiting you. Maybe you're ready to make connections to the past and and increase self-awareness in the 'now'. Maybe you're ready for a committed approach to set goals and align your life with what you value. This sounds great, but you’re not sure where to start, and you’re desperate for some direction.

You’re in the right place. It gets to be different now. Here, I am committed to creating and facilitating a space where curiosity and acceptance are the foundation, and so that healing might come in.

EXPERIENCE:

I have experience working with children, teens, and adults using a variety of modalities in many different settings. Though I have experience with many different populations, I am currently only working with adults. I also have a myriad of experience in running groups with a specific topic that is aimed to address an area mental wellness. My approach to counseling stems from the idea that you are NOT the problem, but that the problem is the problem. My role of the therapist will be to take a ‘copilot’ approach to come alongside you to navigate life’s difficulties. I have advanced training in many evidence-based therapy modalities, though I primarily pull from Narrative, Existential, IFS, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy approaches. Through all of these different training modalities that I am versed in, I am able to take an approach that works specifically for YOU. One size does NOT fit all. Once I meet you, I’ll be happy to explain what these approaches look like and how they might help. I am also certified in trauma-informed yoga, and have experience leading mindfulness-based workshops to marry the mind and body. As you might see, my passion for holistic wellness has lead me to expand into offering coaching services, so that I may further the ways I am able to help individuals. Madison Blyer, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio. My work is rooted in helping people make sense of themselves—giving language to internal experiences, teaching practical concepts, and building awareness that supports meaningful change. I believe that when we understand ourselves more fully, we can better understand others and move through the world with greater clarity and connection. Taking care of the individual strengthens the collective.

People often come to me when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or ready to optimize their well-being. Therapy is not “one size fits all,” so I tailor my approach to what’s happening in your life and what matters most to you.

My style is relational and person-centered: you are not the problem; the problem is the problem. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we slow down enough to understand your experience, make sense of patterns, clarify your values, and build skills that support alignment and connection.

A core part of my work involves the psychology of possibility—expanding what feels available to you, not through naïve optimism but through noticing what is already present, what is workable, and what can grow. We are not limited to a single path or finish line; therapy helps widen the lens.

I work with athletes (current and former), LGBTQ+ individuals, people navigating life transitions, stress, neurodiversity such as ADHD, substance use concerns, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II).

Above all, I aim to co-create a courageous space where you can show up exactly as you are—with compassion, curiosity, and openness at the forefront.
